University of Oregon Videolab Project 1997 - 2006
The Videolab project was organized in the 1997 to formalize within the Unverisity of Oregon's Computing Center our interest in the use of internet media transports to support the University's educational and research mission. Over the course of nine years the videolab supported:
- Small group conferencing and one-to-many distribution for classroom activities and research collaboration.
- Interdomain multicast deployment.
- Aquisistion of content resources for digital resdistribution.
- Public participation and oversight of internet related conferences, including NANOG, the IETF, ICANN, ARIN, AFRINIC, AFNOG, Internet II Joint techs and others.
- Archival of historical media.
- Software development to address gaps in the multicast applications toolkit.
