IETF 63

The new streaming effort continues for IETF 63. All eight parallel tracks will be covered. It is our hope that this effort will continue to provide useful timely and accessible access to the proceedings of the IETF as they happen. An internet draft (revised since IETF 62) decribing what the effort is intended to do, and the efforts up to this point is available at http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-jaeggli-ietftv-ng-01.txt.

Streams are delivered as 64Kb/s unicast-http-streamed mp3 audio, a popular and relativly standard way to deliver internet radio. Most platforms should have a client immediatly available (windows media player, quicktime, real, winamp, vlc, mplayer, zinf, etc) capable of playing back the stream.

Testing

To test your client against a currently active stream of the same type, launch this, which should provide you with access to the Universtiy of Oregon's classical radio station, KWAX.

Meeting

Streaming Begins at 0730 CEST (UTC/GMT +2) Monday August 1st.

IETF 63 playlist containing all 8 channels.

Local (to the) IETF 63 playlist containing all 8 channels

Notes

8/1

Polarity mismatch causing bad the audio quality on channel 3. first two morning sessions audio recordings were a little rough as we troubleshoot issues in 1 3 and 8.

8 crashed right at 1400, got it back up in around 5 minutes

1 rebooted at 1635 because I dropped the screwdriver while putting the case back on

8/2

Channel-3 may still be a bit noisy, I did what I could.

Connecting through an http proxy server may or may not work properly

Channel-3 is a small room, and between the lack of desire for small groups to use mics and the board audio-problem it's almost completely unuasable nfsv-4 is there currently.

IPV6 is in the havana room which despite being the second largest currently in use is completely full and doesn't have enough exits. audio is really the only way to follow it.

8/3

Channel-3 is better

first set of recordings in the morning were not started until 10 minutes in, (darn)

switch crash pulled the rug out from under the streaming towards the end of the second session.

channel-1 is streaming the plenary using the channel-7 box

8/14

All of the extant recording have been copied to the Archive.

Some stats on the streaming
